Welcome to the CNC 2025 Organizer “One-stop Shop!” This is a “members only” page for CNC 2025 organizers. We will update the page regularly with links to emails, meeting agendas and recordings, and new resources. Feel free to bookmark the page for easy access, but please do not share this link with anyone outside of your CNC organizing team.
Organizer Responsibilities
Organizers are responsible for:
- Attending virtual and asynchronous meetings
- Working with other organizers in your area (if multiple people express interest and/or your city has returning organizers)
- Setting up a project in iNaturalist or your city’s preferred platform
- Promoting the CNC in your community

Communication
Language
- We strive to meet the needs of global CNC organizers by making communications, meetings, and resources available in multiple languages.
- Meetings happen in both English and Spanish. English meetings Spanish meetings are led by Anabela Plos, our CNC Spanish Language Global Organizer.
- Logos are available in many languages and new translations can be requested when filling out the CNC 2025: City Information Form by December 13, 2024. New requests will not be accepted after that date.
- The CNC 2025 video (shared in March 2025) will be produced in English and Spanish. Organizers are welcome to submit subtitles and to dub the video into other languages.
- If you’d like to volunteer to help translate resources into other languages, please let us know and share some of the resources you create in this folder!
- We use a Gmail mail merge add-on called Yet Another Mail Merge (YAMM) to send emails to CNC organizers.
- Many organizer questions can be answered by reading the organizer handbook, looking at resources in the Google Drive folder, or by asking fellow organizers on Discord. If you have a question that wasn’t answered in any of those places or needs to be answered by one of the CNC Global Organizing Team, (Lila, Amy, Sam, Rebecca & Olivia) PLEASE include ALL OF US on your email and one of us will get back to you as soon as possible (lhiggins@nhm.org, rjohnson@calacademy.org, ajaecker@nhm.org, stayag@nhm.org, ovandamme@calacademy.org)
Discord
- We use Discord as another space to communicate between the entire group. You can join using this link.
- Use Discord to communicate ask questions of other organizers and as a hub for regional collaboration.
- Explore some of the cool channels that might interest you! Existing channels include: general, iNaturalist, cncdata, cnc goals, meetings, promo, website, accessibility, education_working_group, interesting_literature, and random.
- You’ll also find a number of regional channels such as uk-cnc, austria-cnc, canada-cnc, germany-cnc, india-cnc, france-cnc, nebraska-cnc, california-cnc, washington-state-cnc, colorado-cnc, and oceania-cnc. Feel free to create a new one if your region isn’t represented.

Meet with the other organizers in your city
By mid-December, have a meeting with the other organizers in your city to all get on the same page. This can happen over email, phone, Zoom, in-person, Slack, etc. - whatever works!
